Zipstep (ジップステップ), also known by her real name Mamori Shishioka（宍岡守, is one of the main characters of Double Shadow.
After saving Echo EX Lantern from an attack by Archfiend Pam, Zipstep begins training with her in order to prepare for her upcoming selection exam.

Echo EX Lantern
As a Magical Girl, Zipstep has very short, dark hair with hot pink highlights across her bangs. She has lilac colored eyes with yellow pupils and dark eyelashes. She wears a large, dark grey hat with a pale pink inside that is tied onto her head with a pale purple ribbon. The ribbon is tied into a bow at her chin and has white lace around the edges, which are long and reach down to the hem of her skirt. Peaking out from underneath her hat are pale purple frills. Light grey sheer fabric descends from underneath the back of her hat all the way down to her ankles. Also seen floating behind her head is a pale pink ring with various black puffballs surrounding it
Zipstep wears a pale pink top with a silver, heart shaped decoration with various black puffballs surrounding it attached to the front. Her sleeves are detached, starting at around her upper forearm and ending just above her wrists. Her sleeves are black with pink insides and various small, black bows around the bottom. Pale purple frills also come out from underneath the main sleeve and cover the rest of her wrist. Zipstep wears a multi-layered black and grey ruffled short skirt.
She wears pale purple stockings, and a hot pink band can be seen hovering around her right thigh, which is also has various black puffballs floating around it. Pale purple and pink lace is attached to her left ankle via a small, thin chain and a silver lock. Her shoes are black and are stylized to resemble hooves, and she has small, pink spots wrapped around them.

Magic[]
Stops movement when stepping on your shadow.
Zipstep’s magic allows her to stop any and all movement whenever she steps on someone or something’s shadow. She is also capable of stopping numerous things at once if she manages to step on shadows that overlap one another.
If something were to be falling, such as a ferris wheel, stepping on it’s shadow will prevent it from falling any further. However, as soon as Zipstep either stops stepping on the shadow or dies, movement will resume.

Pfle[]
In Double Shadow, it is revealed that Zipstep was Pfle’s previous butler, having been let go after she failed to protect her from a fire when she was young. Despite being let go, Zipstep still greatly admires and cares for Pfle, wanting to be able to protect her. Despite her sister’s warnings, and the fact that they’ll have to inevitably confront one another in their upcoming exam, Zipstep still refuses to hurt her.
In the middle of a battle with Archfiend Pam, Zipstep helps protect Pfle by stepping on the shadow of a falling ferris wheel that she was hiding under, preventing it from moving. However, this puts her in the direct path of a spear, which ends up fatally piercing Zipstep. In her final moments, she is thankful she was able to finally protect Pfle.
Shadow Gale[]
Throughout the events of Double Shadow, Zipstep remarks about her hatred for Shadow Gale, and believes that she is not fit to be Pfle’s personal butler. In her internal monologue, Zipstep has numerous thoughts about killing her.
When they finally confront one another at the abandoned amusement park, Shadow Gale is shocked when she recognizes who Zipstep is, which only serves to anger her and send Zipstep into a frenzy. This leads to a fight, and Zipstep remarks it would be better if Shadow Gale disappeared as she beat her up.
In her final moments, Zipstep tells Shadow Gale to protect and live for Pfle.

- In her concept artwork, it is stated that her design motifs are frills and hearts.
- It is also implied in a tweet made by series character design Maruino shortly after Zipstep’s introduction was posted that her design is like a sheep.
- In another tweet, Maruino would reveal that Zipstep and Echo EX Lantern’s designs were originally swapped. Zipstep’s color palette originally consisted of primarily white, pink, and red. She also originally had Echo’s name and power.
