Tepsekemei (テプセケメイ) is one of the main protagonists of Magical Girl Raising Project: Limited and Magical Girl Raising Project: breakdown. She plays a supporting role in Magical Girl Raising Project: White and Magical Girl Raising Project: Red, and made a cameo in Magical Girl Raising Project: JOKERS.
She is a tortoise bred in the Namiyama Middle School science lab, having gained human form and self-awareness after being turned into a Magical Girl by Toko.

She is an Egyptian Tortoise.
Magical Girl[]
As a Magical Girl, Tepsekemei has short brown hair and light blue slitted eyes. She wears a white cap with lace around the bottom edges, and a red lotus flower that has a black ribbon attached to the center on the cap. She also wears large black earrings.
Mei wears a gold and black choker, and gold bracelets. She also wears golden elbow guards and golden rings. Her nails are painted gold and black. Tepsekemei wears a classic genie-style outfit. She has round white sleeves with black spikes on them, and a black short top with a red charm hanging from it. She also wears a golden sash and white pants.
Personality[]
Tepsekemei proved to be very expressionless and confused, but she still has feelings, though she does not understand them very well. However, she does her best to try to learn. She likes to watch TV and dig holes. She can sometimes talk about some nonsense she saw on TV, although she does not quite understand the meaning. She loves to garden very much.
Tepsekemei is very close to 7753 and Mana, as they live together. 7753 likes to teach Tepsekemei new things.
However, Mei likes to take things without permission and can sometimes appear to be rude. Mei is said to have limited patience with some people.
Magic[]
Can become one with the wind to go anywhere.
She can assimilate her body with the surrounding gas. In this state, all physical attacks pass through her body. Even if her body is divided, it will not damage her, and Tepsekemei can simply make the divided body act on it’s own. She is also capable of manipulating her own density to make herself either bigger or smaller. The larger the form or the more Tepsekemei splits, the less of ‘herself’ she maintains, as she begins to dilute her own existence and personality.[1]
Divided body parts can easily reform into her own self, effectively allowing her to make various clones of herself. These clones are not as strong as Tepsekemei, but are capable of fighting and thinking on their own. In order to learn what a clone has seen or heard, Tepsekemei has to merge back together with that clone. Tepsekemei can immediately tell once a clone of herself dies.[2]
Tepsekemei is also capable of manipulating the air itself. By blowing air into her hands and compressing them to fire continuously, she can effectively create bullets of air. Due to being made of air, these bullets are colorless and transparent, and are only detectable by their sound.[3]
While Tepsekemei is unaffected by most attacks, it is possible to damage her by using an attack that would change the quality of gas.[4] It is also possible to trap her in a closed space, further compressing the space can even restrain her movement.

- Tepsekemei's Lamp: A beautiful lamp that allows Tepsekemei to enter. The lamp is golden with a spiky black and red top. It was given to her by Captain Grace.

Captain Grace[]
Tepsekemei and Captain Grace were teammates. Mei received her lamp from Captain Grace since Grace thought a Lamp would fit more a genie rather than a pirate. Mei considered Captain Grace as her friend.
Funny Trick[]
During the events of Limited, Funny Trick, and Tepsekemei team-up. Due to her interacting more with Tepsekemei than the others, Tepsekemei frequently uses her name more than any other Magical Girl. Mei considered Funny Trick as her friend.
Weddin[]
Tepsekemei and Weddin were teammates. Tepsekemei considers Weddin weak slow and heavy but with no bad intentions. After the events of Limited, Mei tends to call 7753 "Weddin", implying she still remembers her. Mei considered Weddin as her friend.
Kuru-Kuru Hime[]
Tepsekemei and Kuru-Kuru Hime were teammates. Mei considered Kuru-Kuru Hime as her friend.
Postarie[]
Tepsekemei and Postarie were teammates.
Rain Pow[]
Tepsekemei and Rain Pow were teammates. Rain Pow targeted her to become a Magical Girl since she thought nobody in the school would notice her disappearance. At first, they looked like they were in good terms. However, after Tepsekemei accidentally called out Toko as the enemy, Rain Pow tried to kill her but failed.

7753[]
After the events of Limited, 7753 lets Tepsekemei stay at her place. The two became roommates and bonded over time. Occasionally, Tepsekemei tends to say weird things to 7753 that she learned from watching tv. She also tends to call her "Weddin".
During the events of breakdown, Mei and 7753 accompany Mana to The Island. While talking to Navi Ru, Mei reveals that she views 7753 as family as opposed to just a friend.

After the events of Limited, Mana and Mei got close. Mei tends to refer to Mana as “Funny Trick”.
During the events of Breakdown, Mana invites both 7753 and Mei to the island. While talking to Navi Ru, Mei reveals that she views Mana as family as opposed to just a friend.
Ripple[]
Snow White[]
Mei first met Snow White when the Magical Girl Hunter questioned her for clues regarding Ripple's whereabouts in the aftermath of Limited, answering to the best of her ability. The meeting seems to have left quite an impression on Mei, with her later describing Snow White as "scary".
Snow White would once again confronted Mei following the events of breakdown and requested her assistance for her infiltration of Umemizaki Middle School, since Pythie Frederica cannot use her magic on the tortoise due to the promise she made with Weddin. To Snow White's surprise, Mei agreed and hid in her shirt. During the Umemizaki Incident, Tepskemei would initially help Snow White defend the school but later abandon her after Old Blue blackmailed the Magical Girl Hunter into an alliance.

They fought thinking they were enemies. Archfiend Pam was amazed by Mei’s magic.
Pythie Frederica[]
Although Pythie and the other prisoners never did something that directly affected Mei, Mei knew she was evil since she hurt many of Mei's friends and despised Pythie as a result. Despite this, she allied with her since she could trust her due to Weddin's magic.

Pukin[]
While they never directly met, Tepsekemei was the one who finally managed to kill Pukin as revenge for killing her friends. After killing Pukin by exploding her body from the inside, Mei cries for the first and only time in her life as a magical girl.
Following her death, it has been shown that Pukin has left a lasting impression on Tepsekemei. In Breakdown, Mei likens the presence of Francisca Francesca to Pukin, and in White, Mei proudly boasts about how she had killed Pukin, and threatens that she'll do the same to people who oppose her.

During the events of Breakdown, Tepsekemei has an intense fight against Francisca Francesca.
The two of them fight for a while, with Mei even tearing Francisca’s toga with her attacks. However, Mei is eventually overwhelmed, and Francisca is able to take down one of her clones.

Calmness: 4/5 - Tepsekemei's name is based on the Egyptian king Hotepsekhemwy, whose name means "to reconcile two powers".
- Tepsekemei has many things in common with Cherna Mouse.
- They're both animal magical girls.
- They both talk in third person.
- They're both featured in the September illustration of the 2016 calendar of the franchise called "Traffic Safety for Good Kids".
- Both of them have powerful magics that are ironic to the species they’re in real life, in Tepsekemei's case, her magic allows her to become one with the wind which permits her to fly at a very high speed, unlike the Egyptian tortoise who is a slow earth animal.
- Both of them share their real names with other characters, Mei shares her real name, Mei, with Princess Tempest's, Mei Higashionna.
