Sumire (スミレ) is a character who first appeared in Magical Girl Raising Project.
She is Koyuki Himekawa's friend from middle school. Though she later enrolled in a different high school, they still maintained their friendship.
Appearance[]
Human[]
As a human, Sumire has brown hair parted into two curls with straight bangs. She is typically seen wearing a brown middle-school uniform, including a sailor shirt with a white tie, and a typical matching skirt with school shoes. She is often seen carrying around a school bag as well.
After entering high school, Sumire now wears her own uniform, having separated from Koyuki and her friends. She wears a long-sleeves cream-colored shirt with a red tie.
Personality[]
Unlike Yoshiko, Sumire is more willing to accept the existence of Magical Girls.

Koyuki Himekawa[]
Both Sumire and Koyuki attended the same middle school and were classmates. They later went their separate ways during high school. They seem to be close and were shown to still meet up with each other after graduating from middle school.
Yoshiko Yoshinoura[]
Both Sumire and Yoshiko attended the same middle school and were classmates. They later went their separate ways during high school. They often debate whether Magical Girls really exist.

Etymology[]
- The name Sumire is written in katakana (スミレ), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (菫), it could possibly mean "violet (flower)".
Trivia[]
- It is to note that in the manga, both Yoshiko and Sumire had their hairstyle swapped.
- Sumire's hairstyle was changed to twintails.
- Both of their faces were also hidden.
- Sumire is 150cm tall.[1]
