Snow White (スノーホワイト, Snow White), also known by her real name Koyuki Himekawa (姫河小雪, Koyuki Himekawa), is one of the main protagonists of the Magical Girl Raising Project series. She appeared as a Major character in Magical Girl Raising Project, Magical Girl Raising Project: JOKERS, Magical Girl Raising Project: ACES, Magical Girl Raising Project: QUEENS, Magical Girl Raising Project: White and Magical Girl Raising Project: Red. She is also a supporting character in Magical Girl Raising Project: Restart and Magical Girl Raising Project: Black.

She is a Magical Girl operating within N-City well-known for her high activity in helping people, stemming from having been a fan of Magical Girls and dreamed of becoming one herself since she was young.

She survives the events of Unmarked (Arc 1) but is psychologically scarred by her inability to stop Fav's killing game.
In Restart, she is sent by the Magical Kingdom's Inspection Department to arrest Keek.
In JOKERS, she received a text from Ripple's Magical Phone, whom was thought dead following Limited, asking her to go to S-City and investigate the Artificial Magical Girls.
In ACES, she becomes embroiled in a war between Puk's Faction and Osk's Faction.
In QUEENS, she is brainwashed by Puk Puck and becomes the main combat force of Puk's Faction.
In Black, she partners with Princess Deluge to investigate Umemizaki Middle School and later infiltrates the academy.
In White, now a student at Umemizaki, she continues her investigation and recruits other Magical Girls as Pythie Frederica and Old Blue's factions to go war.
In Red, she fuses with a Homunculus clone to investigate the ruins underneath Umemizaki and later also merges with Ripple to save the latter's life, becoming a single Magical Girl named Snow Blood (スノーブラッド).

Human

As a human, Koyuki has short brown hair and brown eyes. She has fringed bangs that are cut right above her eyes and a black bow with white ruffles on the left side of her hair, right above her ear. During the events of Unmarked, Koyuki is depicted wearing a brown sailor-styled school uniform with long sleeves. The collar and cuffs of her shirt have black stripes, and there is a small pocket at the top of her uniform. She wears a white bow underneath her collar and her skirt is pleated. She also wears knee-high white socks and is fair skinned.

During the events of JOKERS, Koyuki is in high school, and is now wearing a high school uniform. In Primula Farinosa, we see she wears a blue blazer over a white button-up. She wears a small, dark grey bow with light grey stripes, and a pleated brown skirt. Koyuki is shown to still wear the black and white hair bow.

After enrolling into Umemizaki at the end of Black, Koyuki begins wearing the Umemizaki school uniform, which is dark pink with a white collar and black bow.

Magical Girl

As a Magical Girl, her hair length remains the same, but the color becomes a very pale pink (described as "Platinum Blonde" in Unmarked and Restart).

She wears a dark brown hairband with a dark brown ribbon, similar to her human version, and some bloomed cherry blossoms on the right side of her hairband. She has light tan eyes and is also fair skinned. The left side of her headband is adorned with a giant unbloomed cherry blossom that slowly comes into bloom as the series progresses, having fully sprouted by the time of White.

She wears a white, schoolgirl uniform with a dark brown ribbon and lines. The sleeves of her costume reach her elbow, and there is a red-colored band on the left sleeve. She wears gloves that go from her elbow to her hand, with white bows on top around her wrist. The cuffs of her sleeves and collar are a light blue with brown stripes on her dress, there is a gold chain. There are also two long ribbons adorned with cherry blossoms on the backside of her costume. She wears a miniskirt which is gray and white in color.

Her shoes are thigh-high and are white in color with dark brown stripes. On the back are bows the same color as her collar and sleeve cuffs, and there is a brown stripe right above the bottom of her shoes. The bottom of her shoes is also brown.

After fusing with Ripple and becoming Snow Blood, she is noted to now have red colored theme.

Personality

Snow White is an idealistic Magical Girl. Being a fan of Magical Girl shows since she was a little girl, she has a very naive mindset when it comes to Magical Girls and how they should act.

Her ideology as a Magical Girl is based solely around helping people. She believes Magical Girls exist only to help others, and as a result, was very reluctant when the Elimination Games were revealed to be a survival game.

When other Magical Girls resorted to fighting each other, Snow White remained true to her belief of helping others, and in almost all cases, refused to try to get into conflict with other Magical Girls, preferring to focus on helping people in need instead.

Snow White is a very active Magical Girl and finds time in her daily life to do as many Magical Girl activities as she can.

After the events of the first Arc, Snow White is no longer the idealistic Magical Girl she used to be and has become jaded with what she has seen. She shows little to no remorse towards any Magical Girl who threatens the lives of people. Her activeness from before is maintained, yet it's now focused on hunting down these Rogue Magical Girls instead, eventually earning her the nickname Magical Girl Hunter. Snow White remains efficient and hides her emotions very well, especially while fighting. While still looking for peaceful solutions to settle disputes, she will now not hesitate to fight if necessary. She also has no patience for the Magical Kingdom's bureaucracy and will often bend or outright break the rules if they interfere with her job. She has also displayed signs of self-loathing; specifically, towards her former, powerless, self. She often pushes herself too far in her work, implying she is not caring for herself and avoids working together with others for fear of being unable to protect them. She also cannot bring herself to open up to others, in case she may lose them. Until the events of ACES, even she herself was convinced she had become a death-seeker. When not hunting Rogue Magical Girls, she is actually a friendly person and continues to act like how she was before the events of Unmarked (Arc 1) during real-life and she is a lot more mature now.
After fusing with Ripple and becoming Snow Blood, both of their minds now share the same body. However, Snow White appears to be the one in control of the body while Ripple acts as a disembodied voice in their mind.

Magic

Can hear the thoughts of those in need.

Snow White's powers allow her to hear the inner voices of people in distress. The cause of distress doesn't matter—only that the person is currently mentally stressed. The range of the ability is also variable and is dependent on the situation and the person's condition. However, it is possible for one to hide their thoughts from Snow White's magic during this stage.

Snow White's magic evolves following intense training, turning it into a form of fear-based mind-reading. She can control her ability's range, although she cannot fully turn it off, using it to locate targets over a distance or focusing on a single person to read their thoughts for information. This lets her know what her opponents are going to do before they do it, always making her a step ahead. However, she cannot propperly read the minds of people without many negative thoughts.
As Snow Blood, she inherited Ripple's magic to throw shuriken that always hit their target. It is not limited to shuriken though, as any projectile she throws will always find its intended mark, no matter the angle of her initial throw.

Special Item(s)

• Ruler: A magical item similar to a halberd, it's a weapon with a blade length of 30 centimeters and handles a length of 1 meter. It is completely unbreakable and indestructible. Formerly owned by Swim Swim, who named it Ruler after her mentor's death.
• 4-Dimensional Bag: A magical bag that allows you to store a variety of items, regardless of size. The bag itself is small and portable, but its contents are large.
• Healing Medicine: Magical medicine. It strengthens the ability of those who take it.
• Commercial Fire Extinguisher: A tool that can extinguish a fire, though it has other uses, such as creating mist to blind her foes or as a blunt weapon.
• Inferno's Scimitar: Princess Inferno's unique scimitar that emits a high temperature. The weapon emits heat that can evaporate a large amount of water in an instant and is strong enough to inflict damage to other Magical Girls. After Princess Inferno's death, Snow White possessed it and stored it in the 4-Dimensional Bag.
• Lucky Rabbit's Foot (Former): A magical item that grants good luck to the owner when they're in a pinch. However, it's quite unclear as to how it will help her in battle.
• Invisibility Cloak: A magical cloak that can erase one's appearance and smell. However, sound and heartbeat cannot be erased.
• Tetty's Magical Mittens: Tetty Goodgrip's heart-shaped mittens with the word "Tetty" written on the right and "Good" on the left. Snow White use them to end Frederica's life in Red.

Etymology

Real Name

Snow White's real name, Koyuki Himekawa, roughly translates to "River Princess" (姫 Princess and 河 River), and "Snow", or "Light Snow" (小雪 Snow). Using the kanjis in her name that stands for "snow" and "princess" while adding the kanji for "white", we get "Shirayukihime" (白雪姫) which translated to English means "Snow White", the name of a princess from the homonymous fairy tale.

• The name Koyuki means "light snow" (小雪).
• Koyuki's surname Himekawa means "princess, young lady of noble birth" (姫) (hime) and "river, stream" (河) (kawa).

• Despite her hair being portrayed and described as pink in JOKERS, ACES, and the Anime adaptation, in Unmarked (Arc 1) and Restart, her hair color has been described as "Platinum Blonde".
• In the Anime, Snow White is a fan of the in-universe Anime Cutie Healer.
• In the First Character Popularity Vote, Snow White ranked #1.
• Snow White has appeared in every book except for Limited.
• As a Magical Girl, Snow White is 155cm. As a Human, she is 153cm.
• Despite having a sprite artwork in Black alongside the Umemizaki Magical Girls, implying she would be a main character and/or student at the school, she only played a supporting role and did not join the school until the very end of the story.
• Snow White becoming Snow Blood is likely a reference to Spider Lilies, flowers which start out white as buds but turn red once fully bloomed.
