Rareko (られ子), also known by her real name Arare Mutou (武藤霞), is a character that appears in Magical Girl Raising Project: breakdown.
She is Maiya's apprentice and a servant of Yol's family, accompanying the young mistress and her mentor to the late Sataborn's private island to discuss inheritance.

Appearance[]
Human[]
As a human, Arare has black hair tied up into a bun and dark eyes. She wears black-colored glasses and a simple maid uniform.
Magical Girl[]
As a Magical girl, Rareko has short, dark hair with grey streaks. Her eyes are two-toned, with the iris being a tan-ish yellow and her pupils being purple. She wears purple mage clothes and has glasses.
Personality[]
Upon first glance, she looks to be shy and obedient. She also does not seem to like it when people fight. Unlike her mentor Maiya, Rareko will avoid combat, prioritizing her safety and Yol's.
However, Rareko is actually quite two-faced, thinking things she’d never say out loud. She holds a lot of anger and resentment, and blames other people for the way things end up in her life. She cares about herself more than she cares about anybody else on the island, willing to let them die if it meant guaranteeing her safety.
Rareko struggles with low self-esteem, despite her decent physical abilities and powerful magic.
Magic[]
Can fix things that are broken.
If Rareko has all the components of a broken item, her magic will allow it to fix it back before the item was broken. Her magic doesn't work if she doesn't have the components as she can't create new parts from scratch.
Relationship[]
Yol[]
Rareko accompanies Yol to The Island. Rareko appears obedient and follows Yol around, protecting and looking after her even after Maiya’s death. Rareko has known Yol since she was a baby, leading to Rareko having an attachment to her, thinking that Yol was cute.
Despite Rareko’s care for Yol, she does not place Yol above her own life. Rareko considers Yol worth protecting due to her family as well as the fact that Navi Ru needed her to get off the island. Still, Rareko has some protective instinct towards her, as she would have liked to genuinely protect Yol if she hadn’t had her hands full protecting herself.
Maiya[]
Rareko and Maiya are partners. Together, the two of them serve Yol and her family. After Maiya passes away, Rareko pretends to mourn over her death. The two of them don’t have a good relationship, with Rareko holding a lot of resentment and anger towards her mentor due to how she had treated Rareko during her childhood.
Despite the two of them sharing last names, they are not related by blood. Rareko remarks that she was taken in by Maiya when she was extremely young, to the point where she doesn’t remember much before being taken in. Rareko considers the way Maiya had trained her generations out-of-date.
During her final moments, Rareko mentally curses Maiya for the staff techniques she had taught her, considering them useless due to not being able to defeat Francisca Francesca.

Despite her partner Maiya's dislike towards Navi Ru, Rareko passed him secret information about the conversations Maiya and Yol had with each other. A part of Rareko regrets this, as she felt that cooperating secretly with Navi led to Maiya's death.
Clarissa Toothedge[]
Because of her secret cooperation with Navi Ru, when Clarissa was pursued by Clantail, Rareko assisted Clarissa when she asked for help.
At one point, Clarissa attempts to strangle Rareko while she isn’t looking, but they are stopped by Dreamy☆Chelsea and Pastel Mary. Once Rareko discovers what she is about to do, she runs away.
Miss Marguerite[]
Touta Magaoka[]
Despite looking after Touta alongside Yol, Rareko holds no concern for his safety. She looks after him in obligation, only keeping him around because of his friendship with Yol.
Despite her lack of care, she considers him useful due to how he was able to get a grayfruit without signing one of Agri’s contracts. Rareko is still fine with abandoning or even sacrificing Touta later on.
