Before Magical Girl Raising Project: Breakdown[]
Chasing the Wolf[]
When Nephilia was less than two years old, she had her parents repeatedly read her a picture book. Even though she couldn't read or write, she memorized the book's contents, often holding it upside-down. She developed a particular attachment to the "wolf" character in the book. Her true motivation for reading all these picture books was to determine if the wolf in Little Red Riding Hood, The Wolf and the Seven Young Goats, and The Three Little Pigs was the same character. This early fascination with the wolf eventually led her to sympathize with these villains and guide her career choices. [1]
Becoming a Magical Girl[]
According to Nephilia, when she was a preschooler, a clown gave her candy. After she licked it, she transformed into a magical girl. Looking back on it now, she considers this action some form of terrorism.[2] As a magical girl, she could hear the voices of the dead. Her magic doesn't contact a deceased person from beyond the grave; instead, it replays "the voices emitted before death." Nephilla is reluctant to use her magic because she feels disgusted by touching the dead and guilty for making their final words public. [1]
Work as a Freelancer[]
Upon hearing of her magic, many people flocked to Nephilia, hoping to reconnect with the voices of their loved ones. They approached her with varying degrees of desperation and curiosity. Despite their mixed reactions when they discovered her magic only replayed the final voices of the deceased, Nephilia's magic ensured a constant stream of income. [1]

Love and Death[]

The meeting at Agri's house
Nephilia was hired by Agri to accompany her to the island where she could retrieve her inheritance. She was taken to Agri's house with another freelancer, Love Me Ren-Ren. Nephilia seemed depressed and calm during the meeting, expressing herself poorly and mumbling undistinguishable words most of the time. She gave the impression to Ren-Ren as somewhat solemn and mysterious at first glance, while Agri found her awkward and shy. Despite Nephilia's nature, Ren-Ren and Nephilia did try to chat.
Agri showed her annoyance regarding the inheritance problem with her deceased father, and Nephilia confessed that she was uneasy around matters concerning the dead. After a bit shorter and more direct conversation with Ren-Ren, Nephilia leaned across the table, putting her cold hand on Ren-Ren's, smirking slightly. She confessed that she liked Ren-Ren's straight-up and "nasty" nature, suggesting some feeling of grudging respect or appreciation. Ren-Ren came out of it feeling overwhelmed but not offended.[3]
Sign Here Please[]
Upon arriving on the island, Ren-Ren claimed that Nephilia's speech was much easier to understand than it was initially during the meeting. Halfway between the gate they used to arrive on the island and the main building, they run into a balding mage and his companion. Ren-Ren and Nephilia were taken off guard by the duo and took defensive positions to protect Agri. After realizing that the pair were not here to harm them, the mage and magical girl introduced themselves as Navi Ru and Clarissa Toothedge respectively. Navi suggested they cooperate to better achieve both their goals. Using Nephilia's skills in managing paperwork, they agreed to a contract.[4]
Introductions[]
Upon arriving at the main building, Agri and Navi were engaged in conversation when Touta greeted them. Agri inquired about Touta's connection to Sataborn before asking about him directly. She mentioned that they could be considered distant relatives but found the idea of being called "Auntie" too awkward. Touta's companion, Miss Marguerite, deemed Agri a shrewd woman who should not be trusted. Meanwhile, Nephilia and Ren-Ren remained relaxed but vigilant, keeping a close watch for any potential danger. It can be inferred that Agri introduced herself to the others before engaging in conversation with Touta.[5]
Power Outage[]

Magical Girls No More
When Argi moves Ren-Ren and Nephilia to a new seat, Nephilia remains composed despite the tense environment of having so many mages and magical girls around. The situation changes when sound of something collapsing could be heard from inside the main room. They go in and investigate, finding Ragi and other mages incapacitated. Agri suffers the same fate, and all the magical girls suddenly revert back to their original human form. Despite the confusion that ensues, Nephilia becomes amused smiling widely with her mouth open.[5]
