Hi all, going to merge the articles with an ideal version to the original's article as they're kind of related. I'll be creating another tab for characters who have an ideal counterpart, copy the ideal's article and then pasting it onto the new tab of the original. The ideal's article would then be redirect to the new tab.
Example: Creating another tab for Snow White's article and adding Ideal Snow White's article there.
Hey all, I've added a preloaded function onto this wiki. This function allow editors to easily access and add templates listed in the Source Editor without having to copy from other articles. This is most useful when creating a new article and is also WIP at the moment and more might be added soon.
When editing in the Source Editor only, you should be able to a "Preload template:" on the right side. By clicking on the dropdown menu, you should be able to see a list of templates available to choose from.
I hope this new function can be useful for some editors using the Source Editor.
Going to change the orientations of the characters/image gallery to square as pretty much all the image is in a different shape and size. Some were cropped too. so all in all, the image looks inconsistent so I'm gonna change it to square. Square seems to be the most fitting regardless of shape.
I appreciate your help here on the wiki, but please do not add superfluous amounts of information to the home page. We have plenty of information here that is accessful through links on the top. It was becoming incredibly cramped and unidealistic for what we want to be a welcoming, easy to navigate home page, and there is simply no need to include every single character sprite on the front page. I've reverted back to our previous set-up, but I left the "Featured Images" template as it is.
I guess I understand and maybe the characters list is overboard but a homepage is supposed to feel welcoming and presentable to users. The home page looks old and there wasn't that much to it so I wanted to add stuff to make it feel a lot nicer and the things I added were inspired by other wikis homepage. You can't tell me the old one looks more welcoming than the new one. Some of the links(like the individual arcs) also brings you directly to the article compare to the top where you have to click on the LN first. I don't think some of it is unnecessary, in fact, some might be beneficial as it's easier to access.
I see that you asked for Admin privileges to override my decision. And for both our sakes, I'll ignore the strange, petty Graveyard blog you made.
If you're deadset on changing the main page like this, I believe that we should at least change the order things are seen in. I heavily dislike the "Mahoiku Series" template and its incomplete logos, and I think that removing the template entirely would be a good decision. Placing "Recent Releases" under the "Home Slide" with "Contents" on the very bottom would be much better. I believe squeezing all of the "Recent Releases" into the sidebar just does not look very clean.
Let's not make this more aggravating than it needs to be and come to a joint decision.
Finally, at least you've replied. Been wanting to discuss it with you for a while now. You could say the homepage was a bait for you to reply. The old editors doesn't care about this wiki anymore so I think the decision to the change the wiki lies with current editors which is why I hope you would discuss things with me before deleting.
1) It's a salty bolg. Nothing more. You can tell that that blog is not even serious.
2) Technically, I didn't became the admin to override the protection since I'm able to do that as a CM(although it helps). I became one as I've asking the other admin to help me out with the wiki on stuff that only they can do and since they are quite busy and takes a while a do. I decided to be one so that I don't have to bother them. Why didn't I asked you? Well you probably won't reply and there's a high chance you'll say no.
3) As the Mahoiku Template, it's incomplete because you didn't give me a chance to complete and it's also a shortcut to each books. I got that idea from the Spanish version of MGRP and the Neptunia wiki. If you're unsatisfied because it's incomplete, then give me a chance to complete it or I can remove it can add it back when it's complete.
4) I changed the mainpage to take a screenshot and discussed it with the people in discord. To see their opinon which a few said it looks good. It's a page that must be presentable and benefits everyone afterall. However, I don't know when I'm going to revert back so I decided to let it stay for a while and maybe you could see it.
5) As for the sidebar, well, I though the right column would look empty and unbalanced compare to the left column. If you want to put it on the left column, just know that it's gonna look unbalanced and weird as that's nothing much on the right.
Lastly, thank you for "discussing" this matter with me.
I ask that you not speak down to me like I'm an idiot. I don't want to hear it from a man that literally follows a Twitter account dedicated to r*pe p*rn of Nokko-chan (who is NINE), as well as other accounts exploiting the characters here. I've tried my best to be patient with you despite our obvious differences.
I'm going to rearrange the front page one last time using input from my last reply, and I'll be deleting only one section, which would be the "Mahoiku Series" Template. Everything else will virtually remain. I've said it before, but I do appreciate your work here, especially with coding, but there are times the stylization isn't optimal. The colors chosen for tables or squishing information together being the main issues I have. I at least want the front page to be easy on the eyes.
Anyway, calm down, please. You didn't "bait" me and phrasing that way sounds deranged.
Well, Thank you for your quick reply. I won't denided that and I guess I went too overbaord so I'm sorry if I speak down on you(yes my anger took over me). I hope you can at least tell me before deleting stuff especially designs.
So if you don't like the template do we have another alternative or visitors should just have to navigate it themselves?
For the colors of table, beside colors that were already established, I randomly choose one. For tables, I think it's best used when you want to organise the information. But if style isn't an option then what am I supposed to do?
Oh! So people do scroll down. I thought it was quite long too so I wanted to resize the pictures. I did provide a full list in the contents section.
I got this idea from another wiki and I think it kinda fits. I mean you would want to lists all the characters instead of the recurring ones isn't it? Also, what do you mean by "it lags main page"?
You can also edit the main page and its template. It's not lock.
I was wondering if it would be fair to mark people such as Tama, Peaky Angels, Postarie, etc. as "antagonists" since they did support the main antagonists to the end. Although they are sympathetic and probably not downright villains, I think they can still be considered antagonists?
Hmm...personally, I don't think so? Usually for antagonists, we only mark them if they're the main treat of the story while characters like Tama, The Angels and Postarie are MG that didn't really have any bad intention. They were kinda forced into it and didn't have much choice?
Originally, Everyone was labelled as the protagonist. Iirc, according to the old admin, everyone has a pov so they're kinda labelled as protagonist while for the new admin, she didn't want to spoil who was the antagonists. This was especially true for the first 4 arcs.
Ultimately though, Tama did agree to go through with killing Magical Girls, as did the Peaky Angels. Postarie of course couldn't leave Rain Pow's side, but she did have the intentions of "killing" Ripple even when she didn't neccesarily have to. Ruler as well directly had bad intentions of opposing Snow White.
Also, I do agree that they aren't villains, but I think they can be labeled as antagonists.
I have been reading some of the latest issues, and I noticed that some of the information is outdated based on the images. Because it is still untranslated, I am not 100% on how events occured, but I think it is very obvious on who has died, so I have began updating the pages. I hope that is okay.
I don't think you have to link them as I've checked on other wikis and they just seems to either quote them or say which chapter and page it was from. The only problem(for me at least) I see is remembering which quote is from which line, which paragraph, which chapter and so on. Some of the things I wrote last time took me an hour or so cause I had the check on where it was written on the translation.
Ok, sounds good. As for finding a particular line/paragraph, I usually just use the search and find option on docs to easily scroll through keywords. My only issue is quoting details in the official translation, since I don’t think there’s an online document of that yet (since pages and lines might contradict fan-translation)
