Chapter 1[edit | edit source]
|Black & White (ブラック＆ホワイト)|
|In a bus traveling through N-City, Snow White, Sumire, and Yoshiko Yoshinoura discuss the latest smartphone app, "Magical Girl Raising Project". Unknown to them, however, a real Magical Girl, Ripple meets up with her partner, Top Speed, though in a very reluctant and grumpy manner. She reflects on how she came to be a Magical Girl two months ago, looking back on her relationship with Fav and meeting her mentor for the first time. Later, Snow White and her childhood best friend, La Pucelle, excitingly discuss the next chatroom meeting, in which Fav is to reveal important information.
Fav reveals that he had "accidentally" transformed too many Magical Girls and had to cut the number down to eight, claiming the one with the lowest amount of candies would lose their Magical Girl identity. A week later, Fav hosts yet another chatroom meeting, revealing Nemurin would be the first cut, having the least number of candies. Nemurin reacts optimistically, claiming she would be watching the rest of the Magical Girls online. As everyone logs off, Cranberry asks Fav what it means when a Magical Girl is cut. Fav is quick to reply-- being cut means death.
Chapter 2[edit | edit source]
|The Princess and her Four Followers (お姫様と四人のおとも)|
|Snow White is quick to hear of Nemurin's unfortunate death, and is comforted by La Pucelle, who is also mourning at the loss of their friend. On the other hand, Top Speed is placed in a similar situation, raging and crying at the news of her death, while Ripple has little reaction and simply began to plan for her survival. In an effort to bring an end to the death game, Top Speed brings Ripple to meet up with Sister Nana and Weiss Winterprison. As Nana mourns over Nemurin, Ripple is reminded of her mother and aggressively flocks away from her, building tensions between her and Winterprison. Top Speed, however, is able to calm the situation down before a fight escalates, escorting Ripple quickly away from the two.
Meanwhile, a group of Magical Girls in the Ouketsuji temple discuss their plan of action, lead by Ruler. Specifically motivated to humiliate Calamity Mary, her former mentor who had shamed her, Ruler takes a more aggressive approach to the situation and decides to steal candy from Snow White via the new transfer option. Minael, Yunael, and Tama are sent to distract La Pucelle, leaving Snow White defenseless to Ruler and Swim Swim, who successfully steal her candy. Back at the temple, Ruler prioritizes keeping her team alive with the stolen candy, but also forcibly puts herself at a superior standing, berating and insulting her team for their near-failure.
However, Ruler is immediately caught off-guard when Fav announces the second cut-- herself. It is revealed Swim Swim had only stolen half the candy from Snow White, and had distributed all of the candy equally amongst all Magical Girls except Ruler, La Pucelle, and Snow White. Manipulating the candy count with this distribution, she ensured Ruler was in last place, thus eliminating her. Though the Peaky Angels celebrate the death of their leader, Tama mourns, in which Swim Swim comforts her. Swim Swim, after taking the body of Ruler, silently cries, knowing she had killed her idol to become the new leader.
