Now Recruiting Magical Girls![]
Now Recruiting Magical Girls! (魔法少女募集します!)
An advertisement for Artificial Magical Girls; though originally only possible for people with innate potential, scientific breakthroughs have allegedly made it possible for anyone to become a Magical Girl now.
Prologue[]
Prologue (プロローグ)
Shadow Gale and Pfle hide in a saferoom in response to masked figures breaking into the Hitokouji estate. Although Shadow Gale wants to call the Magical Kingdom, Pfle realizes this is a false flag operation for the Inspection Department to investigate her. This causes Shadow Gal to ask what Pfle has done, having been suspicious ever since she had her modify a subordinate's goggles and the visits from mysterious people, but her mistress claims innocence. Pfle then orders Shadow Gale to get in contact with Lapis Lazuline III so she can erase memories from their minds that can be used to incriminate them in a crime.
Chapter 1[]
Beyond the Prism (プリズムの向こう側)
Sakura becomes Prism Cherry
Prism Cherry, real name Sakura Kagami, has always been "average", be it in studies, sports, or appearance. She thought this would change after becoming a Magical Girl, but she was average amongst them too; she only passed her selection due to being the sole participant. One day, Sakura is approached by her popular classmate, Nami Aoki, who uncovered her identity and reveals she is also a Magical Girl. However, upon contacting her superior, Sakura is confused after being informed that she is S-City's "only" Magical Girl. That night, Cherry meets Nami's Magical Girl self, Princess Deluge, and is offered an introduction to the latter's teammates. Deluge then leads Cherry to a secret facility underneath an abandoned factory.

Arriving in S-City, Koyuki Himegawa has Fal, now her personal Mascot, scan their surroundings for Magical Girls while she wanders around. Suddenly, Koyuki hears someone calling her name before being approached by a high school student she recognizes as her childhood friend Akari Hiyama, who she lost contact with when the latter moved away. After catching up for a bit, Koyuki parts ways with Akane and asks Fal if he sensed any Magical Girls yet, to which he responds that he did not. With the sun setting, Fal suggests they return home. However, Koyuki is adamant they continue searching to uncover the truth behind the mysterious message they received from the currently missing Ripple's Magical Phone.
The Pure Elements
At the underground facility, the alarm goes off and the Magical Girls, the Pure Elements, spring into action: Deluge, middle schooler Nami; Princess Inferno, high schooler Akari; Princess Tempest, elementary schooler Mei Higashionna; Princess Quake, university student Chiko Satou, and newest member, Cherry, middle schooler Sakura. Reaching a secluded mountain, they confront the source of the alarm: monsters they call "Disrupters". After doing a team pose, the Pure Elements engage their enemies, with Cherry finishing them off by using her magic, to "alter reflections", to make her reflective costume give off a blinding light, which "Disrupters" are weak against.

The Pure Elements become Magical Girls
Several months ago, Nami, Akane, Mei, and Chiko received a message claiming they had been selected to become Magical Girls, prompting them to travel to the given address. However, only Mei believed it; Nami thought it was a friend's prank while Akane and Chiko suspected a scam. Upon arriving, they were met by an elderly woman who introduced herself as "Miss Tanaka" and handed each of them a gem before telling them to say "Princess Mode: On". Doing as instructed, the four were transformed into Magical Girls, much to Tempest's joy and the others' shock. Miss Tanaka then told them about "Disrupters", alleging they are invaders from another world, and claimed that the Magical Girls are a government response force.
Back at the facility, Cherry observes the Pure Elements training and notes how they differ from normal Magical Girls: rather than Magical Phones, they transform using gems and need to consume medicine to maintain their magic. They are also ignorant about the Magical Kingdom and vice-versa. Regardless, the Pure Elements clearly have powerful backing and Cherry considered reporting them. However, after bonding with them, she ultimately decided against it.
Interlude[]
Following the attack on Pfle's manor, the culprit has yet to be found. However, the Inspection Department opened an investigation and all upper personnel within the Magical Girl Resources Department, of which Pfle is the head, are being interrogatated.
Currently, 7753 is on an errant given by her boss, Pfle. In the past, Pfle ordered 7753 to bring a package received during emergencies to a contact person at an inn. However, upon arriving, she is shocked to find that the contact is Pythie Frederica. Deducing that Pfle has Frederica do off-the-books work for her while keeping the criminal on a short leash, 7753 bitterly concludes that her boss' plan is the best move and hands over the package.
Chapter 2[]
Everyone Assemble (みんな集まれ)
Following a breakout during the B-City Incident, the Magical Girl Filru was "let go" of job as a prison guard amidst reforms caused by the discovery of corruption. Returning home after another unsuccessful job-hunt, the almost broke Filru's Magical Phone suddenly receives a message: "Someone is creating Artificial Magical Girls; capture one and receive a reward."
Following Archfiend Pam's death during the B-City Incident, her former colleagues and students held a funeral for her, hiring the fashionista Magical Girl Styler Mimi to restore her disfigured corpse with her magic, to "alter a person's appearance". Prior to her death, Pam founded the Archfiend Cram School, which taught Magical Girls how to fight, but her passing has now effectively disbanded it. After the proceedings, one former student, Mimi's best friend Marika Fukuroi, started a fight with her peers to get them off their grief. Not wanting to get involved, Mimi fled. Unfortunately for her, she is presently being dragged along to S-City by Marika after the latter received a mysterious message.

Lady Proud dotes on Umbrain
Pam's death also left a power-vacuum within the Magical Kingdom's Department of Diplomacy. Amongst those vying for control is the Magical Girl Lady Proud, who also received the mysterious message about "Artificial Magical Girls". Seeing the posibility to monopolize the technology for herself, she traveled to S-City with her partner, Umbrain. However, after some fruitless searching, Umbrain gets bored, prompting Proud to dote on the elementary school-aged Magical Girl.

While retrieving a "Disrupter" corpse, Deluge and Tempest are confronted by Filru, having finally found them after days of searching. However, they are then approached by two more Magical Girls who received the bounty as well and wish to claim it for themselves. Though not understanding the situation, Deluge and Tempest deduce they are enemies and activate Luxury Mode, temporarily enhancing their abilities. Catching their opponents off-guard, the two overpower and force them to flee.
Afterward, Deluge and Tempest return to the facility and inform the others about what had transpired. While Tempest and Inferno are excited to fight new enemies, Deluge and Quake are more concerned. Concluding that the Magical Kingdom has discovered the Pure Elements, Cherry considers coming clean but cannot muster the courage. Mistaking Cherry's worries as being worried about the new enemies, Deluge promises to protect her, which cheers her up somewhat; Cherry then claims that she will protect Deluge as well. However, unbeknownst to Cherry, Deluge has also deduced that she is hiding something.
Meanwhile, at a local hotel, Filru hosts the Magical Girls she ran into earlier, Uttakatta and Kafuria, who are "freelancers" like herself. Since the Artificial Magical Girls are stronger than expected, the three agree to team up and split the bounty. As part of their alliance, they also reveal their magic: Filru can "sew anything", Uttakatta can "blow magical water bubbles", and Kafuria can "see who dies soonest". Curious, Filru asks Kafuria who of them will die first, only for the latter to sarcastically claim it is not herself.
Interlude[]
After 7753 leaves, Frederica checks out the package while her roommate prepares tea. From the contents, Frederica learns about the Artificial Magical Girl Project and that Pfle is the sponsor. Knowing that the Magical Kingdom would never accept this technology, which could create Magical Girls without their supervision, she deduces that the culprit who attacked Pfle's manor is trying to crush the project; thus, Pfle is now attempting to make the technology public.
Frederica is also impressed with Pfle's cunning. Since Frederica is still under the effects of the magical promises she made with Weddin during the B-City Incident, she is now forced to follow the list of orders given with the package because she technically received them from 7753. She then turns to the brainwashed Ripple, who she had kept hidden from 7753.
Chapter 3[]
The Miracle of Meeting You (あなたと出会えた奇跡)
After two days of tracking a bloody smell throughout S-City, Proud and Umbrain find the abandoned factory. Just then, Tempest emerges from the secret entrance to the underground facility, spotting the intruders and vice-versa along with a jester Magical Girl who Proud did not even notice. Assuming they are enemies, Tempest unleashes a storm with her "aerokinesis" magic, prompting Proud and Umbrain to hide behind the latter's magical umbrella, which can "block anything", while the jester escapes. Tempest then flees back into the facility and informs the other Pure Elements about the intruders.

Marika challenges Snow White
Elsewhere, now three days into her search, Snow White tries a new strategy: lure out the local Magical Girl, Cherry, and question her. However, she is instead confronted by Marika, with Mimi in tow, who immediately challenges the Magical Girl Hunter to a fight, only to be turned down. All three then notice the jester standing behind them, having literally appeared out of nowhere. Marika demands she identify herself but the jester runs off while signaling the others to follow, which they do. As they run, Snow White asks Fal for info on the jester, having trouble reading her mind due to how calm she is, but he finds nothing.
The jester lures Snow White, Marika, and Mimi to the factory, where they encounter Proud and Umbrain. Everyone is initially on guard, but the jester calms the mood by giving everyone handshakes and hugs along with a business card, identifying herself as Stanczyka. Deciding to cooperate, the Magical Girls enter the underground facility. With the path branching into two, the group splits: Snow White, Proud, and Umbrain one way and Marika, Mimi, and Stanczyka the other. Snow White and Fal also notice that the facility blocks any magical or electrical signals.
Grim Heart and Shufflin
Outside, Filru, Uttakatta, and Kafuria stumble upon the factory and encounter two Magical Girls resembling the Red Queen and Card Soldiers from Alice in Wonderland respectively. Recognizing the Card Soldier's strange language, Uttakatta realizes they are from the Information Bureau, the Magical Kingdom's highest jurisdiction. Concluding that gaining the Central Authority's favor is more valuable than the bounty, the Freelancers offer their services to the two and they accept, with the Card Soldier introducing them as Shufflin and Grim Heart.
Back inside the facility, Snow White, Fal, Proud, and Umbrain encounter Deluge and Quake in a huge training room containing a forest. Proud questions whether they are the "Artificial Magical Girls'" but the two have no idea what she is talking about and demand they leave. However, Umbrain is unwilling to listen, prompting Quake to fight the former, with Proud and Deluge joining in as well. To stop them, Snow White has Fal loudly claim that he senses more Magical Girls incoming, prompting Proud and Umbrain to fall back with them.
In another training room modeled after a desert, Inferno and Tempest stand guard when Marika, Mimi, and Stanczyka arrive. Marika immediately challenges them to a fight and Inferno eagerly accepts. Inferno also signals Cherry in the control room to release captured "Disrupters", which Marika recognizes are actually Homunculi. While Inferno intially has the upperhand against Marika by activating Luxury Mode, the latter turns the tide by using her magic, to "grow magical flowers on her head", to produce a sunflower that fires lasers at the former. Panicking, Inferno flees back to the control room only to be asked by Cherry where Tempest is, causing her to realize she left her behind.

Meanwhile, Mimi and Stanczyka fight the homunculi when Filru, Uttakatta, Kafuria, and Shufflin come in and decide to aid them. However, once the battle is over, they notice that Kafuria is missing.
Later, the groups meet back up at the entrance. Interestingly, Snow White barely picks up Shufflin's thoughts and cannot read Grim Heart's mind at all, which she assumes is due to the latter's magic and the former being simple-minded. With Kafuria seemingly captured by the Artificial Magical Girls, Snow White proposes they negotiate with them, revealing her mind-reading magic and claiming they are just scared. However, Umbrain suddenly disappears, causing a distraught Proud to assume the Pure Elements kidnapped her before going to confront them. Marika follows Proud, dragging Mimi along, and Snow White, Filru and Uttakatta give chase, with Stanczyka and Shufflin in tow, while Grim Heart stays behind.
In the control room, the remaining Pure Elements conclude that the invaders abducted Tempest, being unable to find her on security cameras. In response, Deluge, Inferno, and Quake decide to confront them and demand their comrade back.
Interlude[]
At the inn, Frederica reads documents Ripple retrieved for her. Noticing a hair amongst the papers, she deduces Ripple took a sample from the only person-of-interest who let their guard down enough. Intrigued, Frederica starts using her magic on the hair to spy on said person.
Chapter 4[]
I'm the Culprit (私が犯人です)

Alone in the control room, Cherry blames herself for the situation escalating to this point. She had always been "average", so when she became part of something "special", she did not want to risk losing it by telling the Pure Elements the truth. Suddenly, the control room door to the desert area opens, even though the invaders should all be the in the forest area. Before she can react, Cherry is then attacked by a mysterious assailent.
Meanwhile, Snow White, Fal, Stanczyka, Marika, Mimi, Proud, Filru, Uttakatta, and Shufflin make it to the forest area control entrance entrance when they are confronted by Deluge, Inferno, and Quake. Reading Inferno's mind and learning she is Akari, Snow White reveals herself as Koyuki. Confused, Inferno demands they return Tempest but Proud orders her do the same with Umbrain and Kafuria. Having telepathically learned that neither group has the missing Magical Girls, Snow White ties calming everyone. However, they are then all attacked by Homunculi, killing Proud and Shufflin while Stanczyka disappears in the chaos. In response, Snow White orders her group to retreat while Marika takes out the homunculi with a magical corpse lily.

Inferno and Quake vs Grim Heart and the Shufflins
While Deluge followed Snow White's group to the entrance, Inferno and Quake returned the control room entrance. Fearing something has happened to Cherry, the two enter the control room to instead find Grim Heart and dozens of Shufflins, who attack them. In response, with their Luxury Mode about to run out, Inferno and Quake use their trump card: their combination attack, Ultimate Princess Explosion. However, while killing the Shufflins, Grim Heart is completely unharmed and reaches into a 4-Dimensional Bag to take out another Shufflin, the Ace of Spades. Realizing this battle is lost, Quake throws Inferno out of the room and closes the door, offering herself up to allow her comrade to flee.
After the Ace subdues Quake, Grim Heart has her restrained alongside Tempest, Kafuria, and Umbrain; they had been captured by the Shufflins and hidden inside Grim Heart's 4-Dimensional Bag until now. Originally, the top-secret Artificial Magical Girl technology was created to turn homunculi into Magical Girls, the result being Shufflin and her magic, to "create a clone army". However, someone stole and used it to create the Pure Elements, prompting Grim Heart, the incarnation of Chêne・Osk・Baal・Mel, one of the Three Sages ruling the Magical Kingdom, to be sent out to retrieve them and silence witnesses. With most of the Shufflins dead, Grim Heart summons the original, the Joker, from her bag and has her revive them by absorbing Kafuria's life force, killing her.
Concurrently, Snow White's group returns to the facility entrance to find Grim Heart gone and that opening the door now requires a password. They consider their next move when they are ambushed by an army of Shufflins. Though initially overwhelmed, with Uttakatta being killed, the group leads the Shufflins around the facility, cutting down their numbers until they finally defeat them in a room modeled after a canyon. Inferno then enters, pursued by another Shufflin: the Ace of Spades, the strongest clone. The Ace proceeds to overwhelm the group, with not even Snow White capable of keeping up despite reading its mind. Working together, they try to restain the clone but it breaks free and is about to kill Marika when Snow White decapites it from behind, killing the homunculus.
In the control room, Grim Heart is furious about the Ace's defeat, prompting the Joker to apologize. With the majority of the Shufflins once again dead, Grim Heart has the Joker kill Umbrain to revive them all.
Back with the others, they go over everything they know: Grim Heart and Shufflin have taken over the facility, being on a covert mission to capture the Pure Elements and silence witnesses. Wounded from their previous fights, they conclude their best option is to escape and contact the outside world. However, this requires the exit password, which Snow White learned only Grim Heart knows. The are then attacked by the revived Shufflins, including the Ace of Spades. Fortunately, Stanczyka appears and sets off an explosion that kills most of them, including the Ace, after which the wounded Magical Girls to defeat the remainder.
Interlude[]
As Frederica seemingly plays around with her crystal ball, her roommate asks what she is doing. In response, Frederica explains that she is experiencing interference while watching people with her magic and testing out what angles are functional.
Chapter 5[]
Poker Game (ポーカーゲーム)
After their latest assault failed, Grim Heart rethinks her strategy and the Joker proposes they use the weaker Shufflins as meatshields. Approving of the plan, Grim Heart then reluctantly has the Joker kill Quake to revive the other Shufflins.
Meanwhile, after concluding Stanczyka is on their side even though she disappeared on them earlier, the Magical Girls retreated to a room with a pool. Combining Deluge's "hydrokinesis" magic with Inferno's "pyrokinesis" magic, they generated a mist to hide themselves from security cameras. They also set up a mine field using Stanczyka's bombs and Filru's yarn.

Snow White and Filru vs the Ace
TBA
Interlude[]
At the inn, Frederica looks after an injured and unconscious Ripple, having teleported her to safety just in time. She then thinks about her guest who she just sent off; despite knowing she would likely die, she begged Frederica to return her to the dangerous place the latter rescued her from so she could save her friends.
Chapter 6[]
The Magical-Girl Hunter (魔法少女狩り)
Grim Heart and the Joker notice on the control room monitor that Deluge has seemingly been taken hostage by the other Magical Girls, who offer a deal: let them go and they will hand over the Artificial Magical Girl. Needing Deluge alive, they agree to negotiations. However, suspecting a trap, they demand the injured Filru be their contact. Meeting in the hallway, Grim Heart deactivates her magic and lies that she will spare the Magical Girls in return for Deluge before reactivating it, ending negotiations and prompting Filru to leave.
Unbeknownst to Grim Heart and the Joker, the negotiations were a ploy to get the former to momentarily deactivate her magic so Snow White could read her mind and learn the exit's password. Predicting their enemies would demand Filru be their negotiator, the group had Mimi disguise her and Snow White as each other. After regrouping, the Magical Girls then rush toward the exit.

A sunlight-empowered Marika
Entering the desert area, they find several Shufflins, including the Ace of Spades, standing guard when Cherry inexplicably appears through a portal. While Deluge is overjoyed upon seeing her comrade alive, Cherry tells her to keep going while she blinds the enemy with sunlight generated by her magic. The sunlight also has an empowering effect on Marika, who is part plant, allowing her blast open a path through the Shufflins with her magical sunflower. However, Mimi is suddenly killed by a surprise attack from a Shufflin, though she takes her attacker down with her. Watching her best friend die, Marika is furious stays behind with Cherry while Snow White, Deluge, and Filru continue on. With Cherry continuing to generate sunlight even as the Shufflins fatally injure her, Marika gradually widdles them down, culminating in her bisecting the Ace. Afterward, an exhausted Marika checks on Cherry, only to find she has died from her wounds, before collapsing herself.
Meanwhile, Snow White, Deluge, and Filru reach the exit and enter the password, causing the door to slowly open. However, it almost immediately begins closing again when Grim Heart, who realized their scheme, changes the password from the control room. With the gap too small the fit through, Snow White quickly puts Deluge and Filru into her 4-Dimensional Bag and throws it through the door before it closes completely. After taking a breather, Snow White prepares to go back to support the others, only for Fal to inform her that he senses no other Magical Girls.
Outside, after getting out of the 4-Dimensional Bag, Deluge carries the injured Filru as the latter messages all her contacts via Magical Phone, exposing Grim Heart's crimes and the Artificial Magical Girl Project to the entire Magical Kingdom. However, before they can leave the factory, they are confronted by one final Shufflin who was standing guard outside. As the Shufflin attacks the exhausted Magical Girls, Filru protects Deluge by using herself as a meatshield, realizing she never desired the bounty or the Central Authority's favor but just wanted to feel needed, resulting in her death. Now believing herself to be the sole survivor, Deluge suffers a mental breakdown.
Back inside the control room, Grim Heart refuses to accept she has lost and hurryingly leaves to chase Deluge and Filru. Though aware it is over, the Joker and the other Shufflins decide to follow Grim Heart until the end. The Joker also cannot help being amused seeing Grim Heart frustrated.
Epilogue[]
Epilogue (エピローグ)
After regaining consciousness, Marika learned Snow White brought her to safety. Apparently, the authorities arrived and arrested Grim Heart and Shufflin. However, both reportedly died in an accident whilst being transported back to the Magical Kingdom, though Marika suspects they were silenced. Currently, Marika is in her human form, Mariko Fukuroi, getting flowers for Mimi's grave. Despite her friend's frequent criticism, Mariko knew Mimi secretly enjoyed their adventures and always looked out for Marika.
As part of the Inspection Department's inventigation into the attack on Pfle's manor, all Resources Department upper personel are now under house arrest. Fortunately for 7753, her monitor is Mana; with 7753 having also adopted Tepsekemei, this gives the B-City Incident survivors a happy reunion. Though relieved she carried out Pfle's orders prior to her house arrest, 7753 never wants to work with Frederica again. 7753 is also tending to Deluge, who was put under her supervision following the S-City Incident. The Artificial Magical Girl is unresponsive now, traumatized by her comrades' deaths, but 7753 hopes she will heal with time.
Snow White returns from a job
Returning from another job, Snow White receives a message from Ripple's Magical Phone: "Resources Department head Pfle masterminded both the B-City and S-City Incident". Snow White doubts Ripple is the sender but ultimately concludes that she "must" be alive. When Fal inquires whether Snow White is fine after what happened with Inferno, she recalls her friend's final request, to bring the perpetrators behind the S-City Incident to justice, but doubts whether she can. After responding to a local "person-in-need", Snow White then heads to a meeting in response to another message she received.
Arriving at the meeting spot, Snow White discovers the other party is Shadow Gale. No longer abiding Pfle's criminal activities, she snuck out of the Hitokouji estate and arranged this meeting while her mistress was occupied. Shadow Gale hands Snow White a candy and reveals it contains Pfle's memories that Lapis Lazuline III erased. Though Snow White argues that Pfle's amnesia does not erase her crimes nor guarantee she will not commit more, Shadow Gale claims she will not let her and offers herself up to the Magical Girl Hunter if it does. Relenting, Snow White agrees to hold on to Pfle's memories before parting ways with Shadow Gale.
Elsewhere, Frederica laments Cherry's death. Frederica teleported Cherry away when the Joker attacked her but later send back out of respect for her wish to save her comrades. Frederica then turns to Ripple and comments that her ninja outfit suits her best, confusing the latter and prompting the former to reveal that she had her "play jester" by altering her mind with Pukin's sword. Now able to do as she pleases, Frederica begins looking forward to the day Snow White crosses paths with Pfle, hoping she did not make it too easy by sending the former that message with Ripple's Magical Phone.
