Francisca Francesca (フランキスカ・フランチェスカ), also referred to as Goddess, is the main antagonist of Magical Girl Raising Project: breakdown.
She is a mysterious Magical Girl running amok on the private island of the late mage Lyr Cuem Sataborn, attacking any other magical girl and mage she encounters.

Francisca Francesca
Magical Girl[]
As a Magical Girl, Francesca has thick, rich, long blonde hair that is fluffy and reaches down to her feet. She has various leaves stuck throughout, and the ends of her hair are a pale green, most likely due to being dragged through grass. She has sky blue eyes that are described as having a vacant or confused look to them, and wears very faint eyeshadow. A crown of small flower wraps around her head, and a white flower floats just above her head. Right below her head, and nestled in her blonde hair, is an unknown golden-colored plant resembling grapes.
Francesca wears a white toga dress that has various golden accents throughout and small sandals. She has gold cuffs around her wrists with a transparent white fabric attached to them. A small bird rests on her left shoulder, although it is unknown if it is a living bird or just decoration. Transparent white fabric floats behind her, attached to her left shoulder, with a gold star attached to the end. Throughout her outfit are various small stars, being either gold or white in color. A gold corset is wrapped around her waist with a long, golden piece of jewelry attached to the bottom. A white puff ball is also attached to the bottom of the jewelry.
Francesca wields two axes, with her left axe being golden and her write axe being silver. Her left axe is decorated to resemble a wing, while her right axe is decorated to look like a compass Star. The left axe is also more curved while the right axe is straight, and the left axe has a pointed bottom while the right has a flat bottom.
Overall, Francesca is described as looking distant and vacant, and is always seen with a small smile on her face.
Personality[]
Francisca Francesca, according to 7753 in the character profiles section at the end of Breakdown (Part 2) , has not been able to properly develop her emotions. She doesn’t have much of a personality, but is stated to enjoy fighting.
While fighting others, Francesca always has a smile on her face, although other magical girls feel as though the smile comes off as threatening and hostile. After fighting a magical girl, Francesca tends to pick up on their fighting techniques and personality quirks.
Due to limitations put on her during her creation, Francesca is unable to perceive those who are untransformed or have no magical energy, as well as being unable to attack those who are in a hole or a confined space. There is also an answer that can be given to her question about axes that will stop her from attacking, with only Lyr Cuem Sataborn and Navi Ru knowing what that answer is.
Magic[]

Unlike any normal axes, Francesca is able to manipulate her axes in any shape or form as well as its power and size. She is also able to combine the qualities of her two axes in order to create things such as explosions.
Special Item(s)[]
- Golden and Silver Axe: Both of her axes can change in power, size, and form due to her magic.
- Magical Iron Staff: Maiya’s weapon, which is able to hit harder the more a person has lied. Francesca uses it to kill Clarissa Toothedge.
- Magical Pills: Pills that Francesca carries around with her. Whenever she is low on energy, or has been dealt a lethal blow, she takes one of these pills and has her energy rejuvenated.
Relationship[]
Dreamy☆Chelsea[]
During the events of breakdown, Francisca Francesca and Dreamy☆Chelsea fight numerous times. After fighting Chelsea for the first time, Francesca begins to copy her mannerisms, including holding her axes while holding up double peace signs.
At one point, Chelsea is able to fatally wound Francesca, but she survives due to using one of her axes to stop the bleeding. In turn, Francesca deals a fatal blow to Chelsea, although the latter also manages to survive.
When Chelsea faces Francesca again after her fatal blow, Francesca’s face contorts, with Miss Marguerite being unable to tell if Francesca was smiling or sneering at Chelsea. Francesca begins to change her axe’s form into that of a homunculus, while Chelsea sends both herself and one of her her stars straight at her. While Chelsea is injured in the process, she manages to cut one of Francesca’s axes in half as well as get the gear left behind by The First Mage embedded into Francesca’s shoulder.
Pastel Mary[]
Towards the end of breakdown, Pastel Mary and her sheep attack and hold down Francesca once she approaches the main building. Francesca tries multiple times to attack or shake off Pastel Mary, but is stopped either by her sheep or by other magical girls.
After getting tangled up together due to being attacked in her blind spot, Francesca and Pastel Mary, alongside 7753, stumble into and are absorbed by the disc of power. Francesca is finally killed by this, and Pastel Mary is merged with Francesca’s body. Once Ragi Zwe Nento is able to salvage Pastel Mary from the disc, she effectively takes over Francesca’s body.
John Shepherdspie[]
During the events of Breakdown Part 1, Francisca Francesca attacks John Shepherdspie, killing him.
Agrielreymwaed Quarky[]
After accidentally being led to their camp by a brainwashed Chelsea, Agri is killed by an attack from one of Francesca’s axes.
Love Me Ren-Ren[]
Francesca killing Agri sends Love Me Ren-Ren into a downward spiral, with her being unable to face Agri’s death.
After joining Clarissa Toothedge, Love Me Ren-Ren attacks Francesca from the sky. Francesca is able to deflect Ren-Ren’s attacks with her axes, even once Ren-Ren starts firing arrows randomly. At one point, Ren-Ren attempts to use Miss Marguerite as a decoy, but Francesca is able to predict the attack.
While fighting with Clantail, Love Me Ren-Ren flys down and blocks a swing from Francesca’s axe, which ends up cutting open Ren-Ren’s back and killing her.
Nephilia[]
Nephilia manages to avoid Francesca’s attacks numerous times, by either running or staying extremely low to the ground. Whenever Francesca is around, Nephilia goes as far as controlling how much she breathes.
Towards the end of breakdown, Nephilia joins Pastel Mary and 7753 in attacking Francesca near the Main Building. Nephilia attempts to help Miss Marguerite in getting to the sword in Francesca’s shoulder, but Francesca is able to figure out what they are doing and toss Marguerite away. Despite the plan failing, Nephilia clings on, hitting both Francesca’s back as well as holding down her left arm.
After Touta manages to stab Francesca in the head, Nephilia lets her go and runs away to tend to Miss Marguerite.
Maiya[]
Francisca Francesca is the one who attacks and eventually kills Maiya during the events of Breakdown Part 1.
At some point, Francesca is able to get her hands on Maiya’s staff. Using the techniques she learned from fighting both Maiya and Rareko, Francesca is able to effectively use the staff in a fight.
Rareko[]
After encountering Rareko at the Main Building on The Island, Francesca begins to attack her. After fighting for a while, and destroying parts of the Main Building in the process, Francesca is able to outsmart and kill Rareko.
Later on, Francesca uses similar staff techniques that she learned from fighting both Rareko and Maiya to fight another Magical Girl.
Yol[]
[]
Navi Ru is the one who releases Francesca from the secret lab on The Island. He modifies her, putting her into X-mode and sending her out to attack anyone she sees. He uses her as a way to get rid of Maiya, John Shepherdspie, Agrielreymwaed Quarky, and anyone else that he doesn’t want surviving.
Navi Ru, alongside Clarissa, are the only ones who properly know about Francesca’s weaknesses. When Francesca starts to approach Navi, he gives the answer to her question about axes, and is able to stop her from attacking.
However, Navi is unable to control Francesca, and she ends up going on a rampage on the island. While killing numerous people, Francesca also starts fires and starts destroying the island in the process. Francesca kills Rareko, someone who Navi needed to fix a relic of The First Mage, as well as Clarissa, Navi’s niece.
Clarissa Toothedge[]
Clarissa Toothedge goes after Francesca, haven been given a special sword by Navi Ru that would be effective on Homunuli. After being motivated by Love Me Ren-Ren’s comments of family and her mother, Clarissa attacks Francesca.
Intially, Francesca is overwhelmed, making a point to try and both attack Clarissa as well as dodge the sword that she had been using. Eventually, Francesca is able to catch Clarissa off guard by using Maiya’s iron staff.
Francesca proceeds to use the techniques she learned from fighting both Rareko and Maiya to beat Clarissa to death.
Mana[]
7753[]
While crossing through the bog on The Island, Francesca walks past 7753 without ever looking at her. 7753 clings onto Francesca’s shoulder as she crosses, using her as a way to get out of the bog she was trapped in.
Towards the end of breakdown, 7753 attempts to hold down Francesca’s arm and preventing her from attacking anyone at the main building. Francesca struggles to fight back, due to being held down by Pastel Mary and her sheep as well as being attacked by Nephilia, Miss Marguerite, Tepsekemei, and Touta Magaoka. Once Francesca starts to run and go for an escape, 7753 attacks her blind spot, and ends up getting them tangled together.
7753 and Francesca, as well as Pastel Mary, stumble into the disc of power and are absorbed into it.
Miss Marguerite[]
During the events of breakdown, Miss Marguerite and Francesca fight numerous times. The two of them wound each other greatly during those fights, and Francesca is even able to learn and counter attacks based on what she had seen Miss Marguerite do during a fight.
After fighting Miss Marguerite alongside Clantail, Francesca is able to severely wound her, as well as learn the secret ear-grabbing technique after Marguerite had first initially used it on her. Once Marguerite detransforms, Francesca pays her no mind.
Marguerite, alongside Nephilia, attempt to take Francesca off-guard by using her inability to perceive those who are untransformed and have no magical energy left. However, Francesca is able to figure out what Marguerite is doing by using the magical girls around her’s reactions. Francesca grabs and tosses Marguerite, wounding her even further.
Francesca is then distracted by Marguerite shouting, not realizing that it had been directions for Touta to grab the sword effective against homunculi that was in Francesca’s shoulder. Francesca takes out Marguerite’s rapier, which was also stuck in her shoulder, and throws it at Marguerite. The sword is able to pierce her, dealing a fatal blow.
Touta Magaoka[]
Throughout breakdown, Francesca pays no mind to Touta due to him lacking magical potential and energy.
Towards the end, while everyone else has been blinded by a flash from the disc of power, Touta tries to go attack Francesca. Using assistance from Miss Marguerite, who is able to distract Francesca from noticing him, Touta is able to grab the sword from Francesca’s shoulder and stab her in the head.
Tepsekemei[]
During the events of breakdown, Francesca attacks a part of Tepsekemei alongside Miss Marguerite. Mei attacks Francesca from the air, using air pellets to damage her clothing and hair. While initially unable to attack Mei, Francesca uses her magic to transform her axes and cause explosions, which end up damaging Mei.
After a while, Francesca is able to overwhelm that part of Mei and kill her. The original Tepsekemei remembers their fight, and is unable to gain that part of her back, resulting in her being stuck in a smaller size.
When Mei detransforms back into a turtle, Francesca pays her no mind, due to being unable to perceive that she is there. Mei also does not follow to attack, staying with 7753.
During the final fight, after Francesca drops her pills, Tepsekemei is drawn to their smell. She eats them, and is able to regain her lost form and be rejuvenated with energy. Mei then starts shooting air pellets at Francesca, aiming for the wound on her shoulder. Francesca acknowledges that Mei is there, but is unable to do anything due to not having her axes.
Lyr Cuem Sataborn[]
Francisca Francesca was created by Sataborn on The Island. She was created by him after he was commissioned to by The Osk Faction.
During her creation, Sataborn puts numerous restrictions on Francesca, such as being unable to attack those in holes or confined spaces as well as being unable to perceive those without any magic. Sataborn kept Francesca, as well as numerous other vessel bodies, in a lab underneath the main building.
Ragi Zwe Nento[]
Ragi Zwe Nento, while not directly attacking Francesca, uses his magic to give support to the magical girls attacking her.
While Ragi is chanting a spell, Francesca manages to swipe her arm and toss something small at Ragi’s throat. In the process, Francesca manages to break his staff right in the middle. After injuring him, Francesca loses interest and doesn’t even bother looking at him.
Clantail[]
Intially, after meeting for the first time, Clantail runs from Francesca under the instruction of Miss Maguerite. Clantail transforms her body numerous times to avoid attacks by Francesca, as well as protect Marguerite, Touta, and Yol from getting attacked or injured as well.
However, after Francesca is able to kill Clarissa, Clantail decides to fight her directly. Clantail again transforms her body numerous times, being able to dodge and avoid slices from Francesca’s axes. After Ren-Ren is killed by blocking an attack meant for her, Clantail is sent into a rage.
Clantail attacks Francesca aggressively, transforming into large animals in an attempt to overwhelm and injure her. However, it doesn’t work, and Francesca simply takes the hits. Eventually, Clantail’s transformation comes undone, and is blasted away after. Francesca does not give chase, too busy focusing on Miss Marguerite and Dreamy☆Chelsea to give Clantail any attention.
Trivia[]
- She is likely based off on the Goddess of the Spring from the tale The Honest Woodcutter.
- There existed numerous copies of Francesca, but they never got activated and were ultimately converted into magic by Ragi Zwe Nento to create a makeshift teleportation gate off The Island.
