Echo EX Lantern (エーコ・EX・ランタン), also known by her real name Eiko Mikami (三上衛子), is one of the main characters of Double Shadow.

She is a mercenary magical girl that survived an attack by Archfiend Pam. After being saved by Zipstep, Echo EX Lantern begins training and preparing Zipstep for her upcoming selection exam.

As a Magical Girl, Echo EX Lantern has long, pale strawberry blonde hair that feds to a light pink at the ends. The ends of her hair are also wispy like flames. She has pink eyes with dark pink pupils and wears spiked, heard-shaped earrings. She has a purple choker wrapped around her neck with a small, silver lock attached to the front.

She wears a dark magenta colored top with long sleeves that separate into multiple sections around her elbows. The insides of her sleeves are lilac, and she has gold lining around the sleeves that forms a heart around the point where her sleeves separate. Attached to the front of her top is a dark purple heart-shaped crystal, and detailing resembling the silhouette of a scorpion. She also has a purple scorpion tail wrapped around her torso that rests on her right shoulder. Echo EX Lantern wears white, striped pants and silver, spiked boots with the same scorpion silhouette decorating the front. There is a gap between the bottom and top of her boots, and the top has a hole in the shape of an upside down heart. The top and bottom half are connected upside down purple hearts.

On her right hand, Echo EX Lantern wears a silver, fingerless glove with more heart shaped detailing, and her left hand is bare aside from a pale pink tattoo in the shape of a scorpion’s tail. The tattoo also goes up the length of her arm. She also wields a long staff with the bottom looking like a scorpion’s stringer and the top looking like a scorpion’s claw. Hooked onto one of the points at the top is a hot pink, heart-shaped lantern. She also wields a staff with a pink, heart-shaped lantern hooked onto one of the points.

Echo EX Lantern's magic allows her to manipulate and generate light from her magical lantern, such as being able to shoot lasers. These lasers are powerful enough to cause explosions and fire, and are even capable of destroying a magically enhanced amusement park.

• In her concept artwork, it is stated her design motifs are that of a scorpion and hearts.
  • In a tweet, character designer Maruino would reveal that Echo EX Lantern and Zipstep’s designs were originally swapped. Echo’s color palette originally consisted of primarily gray, silver, and black. She also originally had Zipstep’s name and power.
• Echo EX Lantern's birth name is Eiko Shishioka (宍岡衛子), having changed it to Eiko Mikami after leaving home.
