Calcolo (カルコロ), also known by her real name Calcolo Callumph (カルコロ・クルンフ), is one of the main protagonists of Magical Girl Raising Project: Black.
Appearance[edit | edit source]
Human[edit | edit source]
As a human, Calcolo is an older woman. Her hair is dark, and she wears it up in a bun on top of her head. Her bangs are parted. She wears earrings and a black outfit with white patterns on the top, and a black bow in the middle. There are white ruffles on the collar.
As a Magical Girl, Calcolo has short, wispy white hair. She has a fluffy cream-colored puffball on top of her head and has a similar puffball with a subtraction symbol on her bangs. She has white animal ears covered with purple ribbons and yellow puffs just underneath, along with earmuffs with additional symbols. Across her shoulders, she wears a fluffy yellow ring stretching into the shape of a wing. She has a division symbol tattooed on her upper arms and wears white gloves lined with yellow puffs. She also wears a long, white dress lined with puffs and purple ribbons, in which her backside is left exposed. She has a hot pink tail draped with purple ribbons. Her legs are covered with white, fishnet stockings with purple ribbons. She wears white heels with purple tips. Calcolo often carries around her salmon pink abacus with pink and purple beads.
Personality[edit | edit source]
Calcolo suffers from severe self-esteem issues. She does not believe herself to have the necessary qualities to be a teacher and is rather timid, being quickly intimidated by her superiors and even her own students. Still, she is by no means cowardly, quickly coming to her students' aid when they are in danger.
Calcolo also has a habit of transforming into her Magical Girl form and going calculations to calm herself when stressed out.
Magic[edit | edit source]
Can calculate and fight with a magical abacus.
- Magical Abacus: Calcolo's Abacus is incorporated with her power, but it is unknown how it works. However, she is able to ride onto her abacus, in a manner similar to that of a skateboard.
Relationships[edit | edit source]
As the headmistress of Umemizaki Middle School, Halna is Calcolo's superior. Being intimidated by her, Calcolo actively tries to no do anything that might upset her.
Kana[edit | edit source]
While she tries to keep her calm around her, Calcolo is terrified of Kana due to her criminal record. This isn't helped by the fact that Kana is always in her Magical Girl form, meaning she could easily crush her without giving her a chance to transform.
Diko is one of Calcolo's students. However, she is intimidated by her due to her human form's punkish looks, which causes her to further doubt her abilities as a teacher.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Calcolo's name is a reference to a Japanese math counting game.
- Calcolo is the first-ever Mage in the series that can become a Magical Girl.
- This means in addition to her own magic, she's also able to cast a variety of spells.
- Calcolo is major in criminology.
- She, Tama and Akane are the only Magical Girls whose Magical Girl names are also their real names without any alteration.
